FOR TUESDAY *TODAY’S SCRIPTURE READING: Psalm 94
When I thought, “My foot is slipping,” your steadfast love, O LORD, held me up. When the cares of my heart are many your consolations cheer my soul. (Psalm 94:18-19; New Revised Standard Version)
In verse 22, the author of this psalm proclaims: “The LORD has become my stronghold, and my God the rock of my refuge.” One verse in a favorite song of my Camp Joy campers says “Jesus is the rock of my salvation – his banner over me is love!” This has been so true for me.
When my heart becomes overwhelmed by the demanding cares surrounding me and my mind overflows with the responsibilities that arise, it’s so easy to slip up and lose my footing. I need the Rock of Ages to hold me up and lift my spirits. I rely upon God to help me return to the path set before me. When I become weary in my heart, I can only find rest in trusting God.
PRAYER: Restoring God, keep me ever close to You this day as I seek to renew my walk with You. Amen.
