FOR WEDNESDAY TODAY’S SCRIPTURE READING: Isaiah 42:1-9
“I am God. I have called you to live right and well. I have taken responsibility for you, kept you safe. I have set you among my people to bind them to me, and provided you as a lighthouse to the nations, to make a start at bringing people into the open, into light.” (Isaiah 42:6; The Message)
Is the world a brighter place because of you? The prophet Isaiah reminds us that God has set us here to be “a lighthouse to the nations”. Our actions, words and attitudes either make things clearer for others or brings confusion, they lift the spirits of others or darken their days.
The upcoming season of Epiphany reminds us of God’s desire to bring light to this dark world. Let’s let our light shine so that all may experience more fully the glory of God.
Prayer: Lord of Life, kindle the flame of your Spirit in our hearts this day so that others may be drawn to your eternal light. Amen.
