FOR WEDNESDAY      TODAY’S SCRIPTURE READING:  2 Corinthians 5:16-21

“So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation:  everything old has passed away; see, everything has become new!” (2 Corinthians 5:17; The New Revised Standard Version)

Frederick Buechner explains CREATION this way: “Using the same old materials of earth, air, fire, and water, every 24 hours God creates something new out of them.  If you think you’re seeing the same show all over again 7 times a week, you’re crazy.  Every morning you wake up to something that in all eternity never was before and never will be again.  And the you that wakes up was never the same before and will never be the same again either.” [Wishful Thinking:  A Theological ABC, p. 18]

How good to remember that when I opened my eyes this morning “everything has become new!”

Prayer:  Thank you for this brand new day, Creating God.  Help me live each moment in your love and grace.    Amen.
